Clarissa R. Cartagena is Jersey City native who attended McNair Academic High School before receiving her undergraduate degree from New York University. In 2011, she received her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. Clarissa was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2011 and was later admitted to practice in New York in 2012.

Clarissa’s career began with a Manhattan employment law firm, representing both employees and business owners involved in federal employment law claims in the District Courts of New York and New Jersey. Thereafter, at The Romero Firm, Clarissa represented clients in civil, criminal and family law matters throughout the Municipal and Supreme courts of New York and the City and Superior courts of New Jersey.

​Prior to opening her own practice, Clarissa was an associate at Schepisi & McLaughlin, P.A. in Bergen County, NJ. At Schepisi & McLaughin, she represented clients in civil, family and quasi-criminal matters.  Clarissa also counseled individuals in transactional matters such as forming small businesses, estate planning, real estate matters and commercial transactions.
